UNiQ! New Bottling

We’re excited to announce that we’ve just bottled our remaining 2016 vintage wines.

We’ll release them to you in mid-Spring. Equally exciting - our new bottles feature breakthrough corks that have proven through trials to be cork-taint free. This product, called “UNiQ”, from our long-time supplier Ganau, is made from finely ground natural cork that has been put through a high-intensity steam cleaning process at 180° C. This eliminates any trace of TCA (the chemical compound that causes wine to be “corked”) as well as defending against undesired aromas and off flavors.

The corks are processed in Sardinia from cleaned, ground cork and food-grade binding agents. For more details, visit www.ganau/#!uniq.

Alquimista Cellars has conducted our own extensive closure trials as part of an on-going quest to produce the best wines possible. We’ve included standard corks and high-tech synthetic closures, testing against the UNiQs for cork taint and uniformity of compression. We found the UNiQ granular corks to be superior.

Taste of Sonoma at Visa Headquarters has been Re-Scheduled for Wednesday, May 16th, 2018

In agreement with the Visa office in Foster City, Sonoma County Vintners decided to postpone the Taste of Sonoma at Visa Day pouring, originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 18. We are happy to announce that we have re-scheduled the event for Wednesday, May 16th, 2018.

In the aftermath of the October fires, Visa has made an initial donation of $50K in support of relief efforts in Sonoma County and are also matching employee contributions 2:1.
